Laurel Mountain Christian Camp Rector, Pennsylvania Project Type: Master Plan/Renovation/ New Construction Project Cost: $20 million Completion Date: 2009 Astorino was selected by the Thomas and Sandra Usher Camp, a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation, to design and build a camp for Pittsburgh’s under-privileged youth, providing a safe, comfortable outdoor experience. The Laurel Mountain Christian Camp is located in Rector, PA spanning Cook Township and Ligonier, Westmoreland County. Astorino is providing architecture, engineering, site design and design/build services for the project. The camp’s infrastructure was completely redesigned with new site electricity and lighting, water/sewage/fire alarm and suppression systems and telecommunications & security service. Our site design group created new paths and roads throughout the site with parking lots, 2 new bridges and several new wells. The existing lake also underwent an expansion and is surrounded by a newly created beach area.
