| VA Pittsburgh Asset Realignment Program - Domiciliary Residential Villas Pittsburgh, PA Project Type: New Construction Astorino’s design for the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System’s new 61,000 SF Residential Villas sets a new direction in design and clinical operation of a 98-bed traditional Domiciliary. This revolutionary approach will provide home-like private and semiprivate living environments for homeless and vocational rehabilitation. Six independent residential buildings (13 total units), with a maximum of four residents per unit, will provide patients with the opportunity for rehabilitation in a small group living environment, leading to increased satisfaction and improved clinical outcomes. Four distinct six-bed supervised residential environments were developed for veterans with chronic behavioral health conditions. A shared support center for residents and outpatients provides improved access to clinical areas, group dining, recreational facilities, educational resources and a world-class vocational development center. |
